Healthcare professionals gathered at Alexandria Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on Feb. 7 for Wear Red Day, a national initiative raising awareness of women’s heart health. The event, part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red campaign, highlighted the prevalence of cardiovascular disease—the leading cause of death for women in the U.S. Megan Shilling, a 2025 Woman of Impact nominee, shared her personal journey with heart disease, emphasizing the importance of self-advocacy and early detection.
